Artificial Happiness

This short play  was accepted by Stay On the Bus Productions as part of a competition. The Company aimed to provide a platform for new, up and coming writers, directors and actors. The piece was a drama centered around the subject of Depression, with three different characters telling the audience about their experiences.

"This scene creates a sharp contrast with the previous one and features top writing from Emma Louise Quixley" - Review of Artificial Happiness from the Open Doors event by Stay On The Bus Productions - Everything Theatre

The Promise

I
was approached by a MA Film and Television Producing student from Bournemouth University and asked to produce a short film script for them. The piece was a short romantic drama based around the idea of being reunited with a long lost love, and that love doesn’t end with death, but lasts forever.

The Tempest

During my final year of my undergraduate degree I formed and was Director of a small theatre company called Fluid Entity Theatre. The aim was to use experimental and devised theatre to introduce youngsters to Shakespeare. The company based their approach on the experimental style of American theatre company, The Wooster Group. We gave two performances, the first in a local library and the second in a Community Centre.

Human Equals Human

I was Assistant Director for a Brechtian Style performance of and adaption of Brecht’s play, Man Equals Man. The performance involved elements such as song, puppetry and shadow theatre. There were two performances which both took place on the same day at New Theatre Royal, Portsmouth.
